SMS 007 can be digitally signed. This signature confirms that the system has not been tampered with after shipping from CircleTech, s.r.o. Therefore, you are absolutely sure that the system in your phone is exactly the same as it was sent to you by CircleTech, s.r.o.
Moreover, digitally signed applications cannot be overwritten by unsigned ones in phone. Therefore, an adversary who would try to compromise your security by overwriting the genuine application with a flawed one, would not be able to do that.
The digital signature is based on a X.509 certificate issued to CircleTech, s.r.o. by US company Verisign, Inc..
Only Nokia devices currently support digital signing of SMS 007.
